Greek Spicy Whipped Feta Dip - Tirokafteri
Tirokafteri is a traditional Greek dip made with spicy whipped feta cheese. It's creamy, tangy, and packs a punch of flavor from the red pepper flakes and garlic.
Ingredients:
- 8 oz feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus extra for drizzling
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
In a food processor, combine the crumbled feta, Greek yogurt, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes
Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed
Taste and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper, adjusting to your preference
Transfer the whipped feta dip to a serving bowl
Drizzle with extra olive oil and sprinkle with additional red pepper flakes for garnish, if desired
Serve with pita bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables for dipping
